Keeping it cool in Connecticut, guest photographer

How about this bit of awesome awesomeness!
Makes me think "Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn".

How to begin to educate a child.
First rule: leave him alone.
Second rule: leave him alone.
Third rule: leave him alone.
That is the whole beginning.

Summer isn't all crafts and activities around here.
That's a small portion of how time is spent.
Lots of time is devoted to letting the girls do their thing.  We think that is so, so very important.  It's easy to get swept up in over-programming and doing too many really great activities.  We are blessed to have so many opportunities offered to us.  It takes discipline not to join in on everything.  It's important to us though that we don't.
If you haven't already, check out some of the "go outside" and "slow family"
blogs in my blogroll.

During this particularly hot week in Connecticut, Paul brought the girls to some local rivers for hours of mucking about in the cool water.  He worked with camera settings and took some amazing photos!

And, with the heat continuing today, they have plans to set off again.

 Ahhhh, that's better!
 Happy times!
