I like knowing about the lettuce...

I like knowing what each member of my family prefers on their sandwiches.
It's like I'm privy to some special "inside information."
I felt a strange, and not unpleasant, moment of intimacy when preparing lunches this week.
Lettuce in the sun photographs so well, too!
Yum!

  1. Would you mind sharing the recipe for the gluten-free bread? It looks so tasty. Bread is the one thing I haven't mastered since I had to give up gluten.

  2. Hi Marie,
Thanks for stopping by! This is actually Bob's Red Mill GF Homemade Wonderful Bread mix. That's been our "go-to" bread for awhile now. I'm sure there are more exotic recipes and such, but this is a quick and easy standby. We usually make two a week. At $3.50+ a loaf (plus eggs, butter, and milk) it still comes out so much cheaper (and tastier) than store bought loaves. It's pretty cranky at times and needs "just" the right mixing, amounts, etc to come out "right." If not, the slices get pretty crumbly. And, as with all the GF breads I know, we toast it before eating. Good GF wishes!
